SUMMER EXHIBIT AT LYDIA STREET GALLERY

The summer group exhibit, VISION BOARD, is going to be July 1 to August 5, 2023. Lydia Street on East 11th has an exhibit opening now for Lawrence McFarland. These two wonderful jewels will be in the exhibit.

There's a little golden cheek warbler singing its heart out for the dancing wishbones and the grand monarch butterfly!

This is a gorgeous wildflower with some gold leaf and such in another dimension. We are all

joined. Life needs bugs and flowers.

GOLD LEAF BLUEBONNET

This is about a foot and a half tall blossom with some gold plated decorations to bump up its magnificence. I want to take it out and show out in the light of day. sometimes I forget to exhibit works that I love. Selfish !

USING THE RESEARCH PLUS MONARCH MIGRATION

Now this painting is building. Using the same ideas but growing them. I saw the monarchs migrate. Just a picture of that does not remotely capture the sense of what? The unity? The miracle? Awe? So I am painting a poem about a miracle that happens, has been happening every  spring and fall.

This canvas is 24" x 36" so that creature with the orange wings is only about 13" tall. Stay Tuned!

VAENTINE'S DAY TO THE WORLD FROM BANKSY

This image by Banksy is perfect for Valentine's Day because it does not imply expectations. Just giving, hope, love all the good. Then when I think of Banksy and his gifts I think of Shepard Fairey and his attack on my painted cow, Flowerida.

The local TV station interviewed me about the desecration of my cow that was sold at an auction with Jay Leno officiating to raise money for the children's hospital. Flowerida sold for $20,000!!! I removed the graffitti before the sale. I told the TV interviewer how proud I was to be chosen for attack from the great Shepard Fairey. They edited it. I wasn't supposed to be appreciative of the honor. When I watched my interview on TV I was surprised at how drastically they were changed the meaning of what I said. Clever editing can do a lot!!
