EMILY WHITE and the AMERICAN COLLECTION

The album is done!! My imagery contributes to the Album as an introduction to the wonderful music! I am so honored to mive in such company!
My painting I named RHAPSODY IN BLUE after the music by George Gerschwin but also after the many, many pigments and mixes in the blues in this composition. And now it is part of a Fabulous recording! Music for the ages!

TEXAS HEAT AND WHACKY WEATHER

A new and improved painting. Actually, I keep adjusting this painting but it is nailed down now. Solved. Cured. Born. It's called TEXAS HEAT/LOST IN CODE". I do keep returning to the theme of seeing people lost in their phones, not noticing the world around them. This painting is 24" x 30" wide. For Sale. Acrylic on canvas. Leave a message!
This image is chosen for PR for the TEXAS WCA exhibit this summer on the coast (the Texas coast).

MARVELOUS MIGRANTS AND CREATING A PAINTING

First I made a drawing then slowly progressed. I liked it but kept adding more monarchs. It is about silly limits on migrations. The planet has seasons. Following the seasons honors the Mother Earth.

BUTTERFLIES AND RIBBONS

The images that keep jumping into my compositions are ribbons and monarch butterflies. I resolve to try some other varieties of bugs but the monarch butterfly's recent promotion to ENDANGERED has inspired me.

RIBBON OF LIFE, THE SHOW

Lydia Street Gallery made the cards for this exhibit. It is quite designed and formatted. When I make cards they are straightforward or otherwise, boring. I don't play with the layers and such. NEVERTHELESS, the show is coming up! Yea!!! A party on Friday night, 7 - 10 PM!! Ten at Night!! That's a stretch for me.

GEOTHERMAL ENERGY SALT-DOME SOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This painting won a competition for a public art. It is going to be framed and fixed up and will hang in the new STEM building in Northeast San Antonio. My fascination with the geothermal energy possibilities of salt domes comes from my brother Russ's work on this technology. Russell has left the stage but maybe some engineer or curious person will be inspired by this painting and solve the challenges in utilizing this gift from the earth.

REWORKING, RESURRECTING AND RENOVATING A PAINTING

This is a painting of that moment when a person graduates to the next plane of existance. It just didn't jive. Just didn't dance. Just didn't tell it. Just didn't! Then! I see at last. Reduce. Edit. That's the ticket. It Worked!!! Here's the resolved image.

BEES OF UKRAINE- updated

This is a re-paint of an old painting. An old, rather dreary self portrait that was just to experiment with. It is painted on a board which I don't think is exactly square. Ah-ha Malevich's out-of-
square white square !! But it is a heart felt homage to courage. Amazing courage. Of bees and those people in Ukraine. I worked on this painting some more. The larger bee works better in the composition.

UKRAINE'S SUNFLOWERS AND BLUESKY

The courage of the Ukrainians resisting that brutal dictator doesn't make sense. What a surprise.Ubiquitous sunflowers have become a stirring symbol of freedom.

MONARCH BUTTERFLIES ARE ESSENTIAL

I really like to use these creatures in their beauty to speak to that force of Life thing that is all over the place. It is monarch butterfly season soon. I saw it once! What a gift!
I call this one CRYSTAL CLOUD. It is about 12" x 12".
This is called DON'T SHOOT THE BUTTERFLIES. It is on wood about 12" x 24".
Thhis is named UKRAINE DANCE in honor of my friends and relatives in Ukraine being attacked by a powerful mad man. This is on wood, 8" x 12".

FUNNY FISH

This painting is probably finished. It has been a tour of coral reefs plus imagination. Here is some of the progression. I think I still want to work on the ribbon of life some more.
I took out that horizontal butterfly. It's better without that one.

SHIPPING ADVENTURES

PANDEMIC DREAM is on it's way home or it will be shipped out on Tuesday for return. I am glad it got out in the world - NYC is a good place to show and sometimes sell-but adventures in shipping can be harrowing! This virtual world gives people access to so much BUT it is not the same as in person!!
This was a show at the Blanton Museum of art by Sedrick Huckaby. You just can't get a true experience of the artwork by looking at a screen. The size, the textures and true colors are lost.

CRYSTALINE ATMOSPHERE CONTINUES

This painting s a bit bigger as the fractured or crystalized atmophere figures in the compositions. These are some details from the new one that is progressing.
