FUNNY FISH
This painting is probably finished. It has been a tour of coral reefs plus imagination. Here is some of the progression. I think I still want to work on the ribbon of life some more.
I took out that horizontal butterfly. It's better without that one.

SHIPPING ADVENTURES
PANDEMIC DREAM is on it's way home or it will be shipped out on Tuesday for return. I am glad it got out in the world - NYC is a good place to show and sometimes sell-but adventures in shipping can be harrowing! This virtual world gives people access to so much BUT it is not the same as in person!!
This was a show at the Blanton Museum of art by Sedrick Huckaby. You just can't get a true experience of the artwork by looking at a screen. The size, the textures and true colors are lost.

A GIFT STARTED IT
My niece gave me rectangle of resin with sparkly paper inside. Just a doo-dad but lovely. It sparked a challenge. To capture the fracture and the beauty with acrylic paint!
This is the begining of a series. Our world fractured. Our world beautiful.

NEW LOOK AT THE SKY
Is the sky a sea with us at the bottom? I've heard it described as a sea. So I look up and think of fish instead of birds swimming in the sky-sea. First a sketch looking up through the trees. Then drawing an idea and starting. Then giving up. Change it. Add clouds, change the palette! Maybe its done. A view of a sky ocean.

SOLD! THE ADVENTURE CONTINUES..........
A wonderful painting that I made, sold! Wondrous wise people saw a photo of it on line. They contacted me and the sale was agreed on! Such an odd event. I love/hate/ selling a painting which of course is silly. I paint to get them out in the world. I do not...DO NOT...want to keep my babies at home. I DO want them to go out into the world!! I think it is sort of like when your child or some descendent marries. It's complicated. It is JOY and Loss. People are so odd and I am one!!
It is 40 Inches tall and 48 inches wide!

FAMILY PORTRAITS
Being an artist, I get to paint portraits of people I know and especially of my family. the child has grown and the grandchildren, too. People have changed, gone away and disappeared. The children lose their innocence so very evident in a 5 year old face. What a gift to have these slices of life.
