GETTING READY FOR West STUDIO TOUR

Today I got the garage cleaned up. I have been cutting up old drawings, watercolors then matting and framing. This reminds me of my days selling miniatures in the Piazza in Rome, Italy. So long ago! 10,000 lira for a small painting of Rome....that's about $10. My prices are up. These will be about $25.

WEST AUSTIN STUDIO TOUR

I'm hosting a spot on the WEST Austin Studio Tour, April 27 & 28 plus May 4 & May 5, 2013!! OH MY! Che' Casino (Italian)!! This portrait of my grandsons is the work most likely to be in the catalog....we'll see.

FACEBOOK! ARGH!!

I have been trying to do a Facebook page and it is BIZARRE. I think I don't speak the language. But I do like this Self portrait, after all. I like the palette portrayed therein.

I like Bees! I have painted a lot of bees in different paintings.

GETTING SOME COLOR

Underpainting the foreground and the flesh to bring some life into this work means some sitting, looking and mixing, now. It can no longer be avoided.

CROCHET

Mom crocheted in her younger days. The blanket in this painting is derived from one of her creations. Her blankets were NEVER rectilinear. I've often thought that it is worth being an artist just because one gets to see the work in progress.
